Iliès Terki is an Algerian-born film director based in Hamburg. His work explores the crossroads of the ordinary and extraordinary. He takes a multi-disciplinary approach to his craft, blending writing, visual arts, and editing. His short films tell intimate and nuanced stories of diverse voices and cultural expressions.
In 2016, he launched 52 Idle Shorts — an anthology exploring our relation to life, apart from the online world. The stories seek to dramatize the tiny instants of real-world experience that might seem mundane yet hold the universal ingredients of our connection to life and each other. Idle Shorts is currently in production, with its first scheduled release in spring 2024.
In addition to his film work, Iliès Terki is also a creative director. His creative work has been recognized and rewarded by the world's most acclaimed advertising festivals, including the Cannes Lions, One Show, and D&AD.
